Essential Duties: This is a storytelling position in the Children's Division of the Provo City Library at Academy Square. The individual appointed to this position will be required to read and tell stories, perform finger plays, sing songs, and do other activities with and in front of children and their parents. In addition, employee may be required to perform other related work as required. 
 
Minimum Requirements: Ability to read, write, and communicate at a high school level, understand children’s developmental stages, and interact with the public, infants, and young children. Previous library experience and experience telling stories, particularly to infants and young children, is desirable. 
 
Selection Factors: Ability to teach, use creativity, effectively interact with, and understand younger children. Ability to improvise with various performance activities and be at ease with children and their parents.  
 
Wage: $10.00 per hour. Payment will be made by direct deposit. 
 
Hours: Approximately ten (10) hours per week; Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Hours will vary based on department need.  
 
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
