Health Fair for Older Adults

The annual Senior Health Fair and Extravaganza will be held Thursday, October 20th, at the Eldred Senior Center, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Health screenings may include vision acuity, glaucoma, blood pressure, height and weight, foot care and much more. A variety of health care vendors will also be available. No Mountainlands SOS lunch will be served. For more detailed information please call the Center office at 801-852-6620. This is a great time to get information on many health subjects and services throughout the community. 

FLU SHOTS

Flu shots for senior citizens are tentatively scheduled in conjunction with the Senior Health Fair and Extravaganza for Older Adults on October 20th. (cost to be arranged) More details will be available beginning September 26th. Call the office for information.

Member's Holiday Celebration & Party

Plan to attend the Eldred Senior Center's Holiday Celebration in December. Bring your friends, relatives, and neighbors. Dinner and entertainment are free for members. Watch for more details in our monthly calendar that can be picked up at the Eldred Center office or call the Eldred Senior Center office at 801-852-6620 for more information.

Seniors are invited to attend the upcoming Thanksgiving Luncheon, November 18th, and the Christmas Luncheon, December 16th. Each luncheon will begin at 12 noon, and special entertainment will be provided. The luncheons are a suggested donation of $2.00 for those 60 years and over and a mandatory fee of $4.90 for those under 60. Advance reservations are required two days prior to the event.

Anniversary Concert

The 46th Anniversary Concert for the Eldred Senior Center, performed by the Utah Valley Symphony, will be held Saturday, February 25th, 2012. This delightful farewell concert will begin at 3:00 p.m., under the direction of Dr. Bryce Rytting, and features artists from the local area. The public is invited to enjoy this wonderful concert with their family and friends. There is no charge, just an afternoon of uplifting and beautiful music. Refreshments will be served. Birthday Parties

All members of the Eldred Senior Center having a birthday during the current month, are invited to attend the birthday celebration held each month at the Center. A personal telephone invitation is made to all members. Reservations for the luncheons are required the day before by noon.

AARP Driver Safety Course

Classroom Driving Safety courses are available to senior citizens and younger drivers at the Eldred Center every other month. Local instructors conduct a one-day course every other month from 1-5 p.m. The course is a four hour class on either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. The fee is $12 for AARP members, or $14 for others. To join the AARP call 888-687-2277 or visit www.aarp.org online before attending the course. Senior citizen participants in this course earn 5 or 10 percent discount on their auto insurance. They have 16 percent fewer traffic injuries, fatalities, and convictions. Weekly Tuesday Night Dances

All adults who love to dance are invited to enjoy the lively music of the band "Come Dance With Us", and dance on one of the best hardwood floors in the county, at the Tuesday evening dances beginning at 8 p.m. each week. Grab a partner and your friends and join us. Whether you come to dance or listen to the great music, you'll have a great time. Cost is $5.00 per person. See you there.

A personal telephone invitation is made to all members celebrating a birthday. You'll enjoy celebrating your birthday with us and special entertainment at each party. Reservations for the luncheons are required the day before by noon.
